Floor Insulation Installers
Insulating under floors
The green deal will help bring about insulation improvements to homes and businesses that qualify for a loan under the grant scheme. Installation of underfloor insulation will provide better heat loss characteristics, and reduce energy bills through the reduction of draughts from below floor.
Price Comparison - Advisers
Many existing homes when they were first built have a basement below the floor, in winter, the cold air can penetrate the home and cause draughts. To determine if an existing dwelling is suitable for floor insulation an advisor will carry out a survey to see if the installation of insulation is feasible. Manufacturers supply insulating materials in different types, and some now produce them from renewable, sustainable sources.
Types of Underfloor Insulation
Mineral Wool, is the most popular choice, it consists of glass fibre, rock or recycled materials, also known as ‘wool’. It can be manufactured with flame retardent properties.
Installers UK
Green Deal advisors can only use accredited and approved floor insulation contractors to undertake the work. This is a condition of the home improvement grant. It is expected that the installer will already be registered under a national certified scheme.
You may also qualify for loft insulation, or a top up, to meet the current building regulations standards. The advisor should be able to give you advice at the time when the surveyor carries out an inspection of the property.
